We have a number of potted plants outside by our front door. The Hepatica is the first of them to flower in late winter before spring's arrival.
The scientific name for this plant may be Anemone hepatica, our guides say it's Hepatica nobilis.

As is typical for a close photograph of a small object, the depth of field is a tiny 7mm even at f/22. Consequently, most of this picture is out of focus. The only processing of this image was to reduce the noise of the high ISO selection. The effect of this processing would only be seen in a large print, it would make no difference to the small pictures on this website.
