Mt. Fryatt from the Athabasca Trail Lookout

Mt. Fryatt is a big mountain, it takes up most of the distant mountainscap in this image. The three peaks on the left are Mt. Christie, Brussels Peak and the "Three Blind Mice". We think the next peak to the right of those three is Mt. Xerxes, but we're not certain so please send us an e-mail with a correction if you know we have it wrong. Everything else is Mt. Fryatt including the three prominent cliff faces, the leftmost of them looks as if it's just below the Three Blind Mice.

The Athabasca Trail Lookout isn't actually on the trail itself, rather it's on the Icefields Highway. You can see the trail in theory from the lookout, but in reality we couldn't make it out even with binoculars. It would be just out of this picture on the right.

Photography notes:

This image was made with our Hasselblad camera. It is very sharp and has a great tonal range. It makes an excellent large print. You can get a closer look using the zoom-in viewer at the bottom of this page.

You can zoom in on this image to see the detail in the full image, however this is highly compressed and the original has better contrast and sharpness.
