This is the companion of the male Wood Duck seen earlier. That's his shadow on the right side of the log. There are two backgrounds available with the image, the second one is an 1-to-1 close-up of her head.

This was made with a really long telephoto lens, wide open (maximum aperture), with a magnifying teleconverter. Have a look at the 1-to-1 background to see how well it performed.
