Chestnut-Backed Chickadee

Feeding the Chickadees in Campbell River Valley Park is one of life's little joys. These little birds come to the hands of people with offerings of seeds, particularly sunflower seeds. They are very similar to the Black-Capped Chickadees that are also found there, but they are smaller and have a dark brown back. They are also either hungrier or slightly more assertive.
