Eagle in Flight

Boundary bay, just a short drive from our home, is a good place in the winter to find eagles. We recently tried out a new lens by photographing them to see how much detail the lens would capture. Before the lens was put onto the tripod, this eagle flew closely past us. This is a picture taken hand-held with this rather heavy, cumbersome lens. It is a slight crop (about two-thirds) from the original.
