A very popular attraction on the Icefields Highway, between Lake Louise and Jasper Alberta, is the Bow Summit lookout. It is on the north side of this mountain. This picture was taken from the highway, the camera pointing west, so the viewpoint is over the ridge on the right side. The viewpoint features Peyto Lake, see our picture in Gallery 30. Both Jimmy Simpson and Bill Peyto were guides and outfitters, Bill Peyto often camping out at the lake that came to have his name. Jimmy Simpson, who worked for and learned about the area from Bill, built the Num-te-Jah lodge at the north end of Hector Lake on the other (south) side of this mountain.
