Ancient Arctic Mountain Range

Photograph

This picture was taken from the northern part of the Dempster Highway in the Yukon, close to the border of the Northwest Territory. The fall colour is emphasized by the use of a polarizing filter. This mountain range once stood as tall as the Rocky Mountains far to the south, but time and climate has worn them down. We can only guess what this scene looked like before people (with cameras) came on the scene, but they still a good picture.
