We had previously photographed this tree specifically as a computer background but we were not quite satisfied with its framing. We returned on a dry day after two days of rain. This time we had a tripod to get the composition we wanted and also to support focus-stacking. Since parts of the bark were still wet from the rain, the resulting increase in contrast revealed more detail in the bark.
