This picture was made from the north subalpine meadows trail, looking to the west. It was made from the area shown on this page. We seem to attract bad weather on our days off, but it can make for dramatic clouds in our pictures. Despite them, it stayed dry that day and we had a pleasant hike.

The top of the original picture is cropped off, it only had more clouds and they didn't look as interesting as the ones you see.
We had acquired the lens shortly before this picture was made. It is lighter than our previous 80-200mm lens, being an f/4 rather than the previous lens' f/2.8. We are delighted with the sharpness of the new lens as well as it being easier to bring on a longer hike.
