The science community has come to the conclusion that what was formerly the Rufous-sided Towhee is actually two species, the Eastern Towhee and the Spotted Towhee. This is a photograph of a female Spotted Towhee, and here's a link to a picture of a male. Both were taken in Campbell River Park near Vancouver. This picture was made on Christmas day, the other mid February, 11 years earlier.
