Wood Duck, Female

One of the prettiest and most unusual ducks in our area is the Wood Duck. They are found near both coasts of North America but are more laid back on the west coast -- they don't migrate here, but they do over in the east coast. This picture clearly shows the duck's webbed feet, which also have spurs that allow them to land and stay in trees almost as well as on water.
