Brackendale, north of Vancouver Canada, is well known for its eagles in the months of December and January. They come to feast on a run of Chum salmon that regularly occurs at that time of year. Unfortunately this particular year had very few returning salmon, consequently there were very few eagles to be found. We don't know the exact reason for the lack of salmon, although there had been a very bad chemical spill in the river years before as a result of a train accident.
