We had a very short time to explore Jasper in the winter of 2010. In that time we visited the Maligne Canyon, just over the main highway from the town site. There was only one car in the huge parking lot, and during our time there only one more came. This canyon is a huge tourist draw in the summer, but we think it is even better in the winter. The light penetrates further so there is more to see and the icicles are spectacular. We came to the conclusion that we ought to come back and do it again when we have some more time.
