Fall Leaf on Charred Wood

This image is a simple graphic that was found while walking along a Vancouver Island beach one morning. A leaf had fallen onto a log that had, some time ago, contained a beach fire. It had rained the night before it was photographed so everything was damp. An overcast sky gave the very even lighting. It struck us as somewhat symbolic of the year our area had just experienced, with forest fires followed by a drenching wet fall.
