Heather Trail, Manning Provincial Park

The alpine flowers are late this year due to the heavier than usual snowpack last winter. They are finally in their glory, a welcome addition to the opening of the hiking trails at the high elevations.

The view here is to the southwest from a point along the Heather Trail in Manning Park. This point is about half way between the first of the three brothers mountains and the Buckhorm camp. This point is easily reached in a day hike from the "Alpine Meadows" parking lot. The mountains in the background are the North Cascades, the prominent mountain on the right is Mt. Hozameen.
