Johnson Lake, Banff National Park

Photograph

Many of our photographs from the national parks were taken while on a hike requiring most of a day to complete, this is an exception. Johnson Lake is north and east of the Banff town site. There is a spacious parking lot at one end of the lake and an easy trail rings it, providing exceptional views all along the way. This is a destination for a lazy day when you still want to be rewarded for your modest exertion.

A 24-120mm lens was used for this image, together with Kodak Gold 100 film. The focal length was around 85mm at a shutter speed of 1/200 of a second, the aperture was not recorded.
