Every year, on the weekend after Victoria Day, a race is held for small sail boats from Victoria (British Columbia, Canada) around the Swiftsure Rocks at the Pacific entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca and back to Victoria. At the end of a race we were able to make this photograph. The camera was positioned near the end of Victoria's harbour breakwater. A 600mm lens was needed to give the boats a reasonable size. In the background are the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.
