We were hoping to capture some good images of newborn goslings or ducklings as we walked around the paths in the George C. Reifel bird sanctuary. We split up and each of us separately tried our luck with little to show for it. When we met up again we were sitting on the steps to a raised lookout when a family of Canada Geese came wandering down a path towards us. We were delighted to watch and photograph as the mother offered shelter under her wings to her six weary goslings while the father kept guard over his family.
