Our Easter Cactus opened its flowers exactly on easter in 2013. (Okay -- a couple opened a little bit a day earlier) The flowers are fairly small, just a little bit bigger than a thumbnail. Consequently any photograph of them would have very little depth of focus. However this picture was made with a technique called "focus stacking" where many pictures are made while slowly turning the camera's focus. A computer program then selects the sharpest part of each photograph and merges them into this final image.
